It's been one week

In the past seven days:
One of our rental houses burned down
One of our tenants was growing pot
Growing pot was the cause of house burning down
Tenant/pot grower left his wallet and a big bag of weed in the house – Scott had to deliver it to the police
I’ve been harassed by both the insurance company, mortgage company and fire investigators
I’ve spent at least 6 hours this week on completely pointless work related conference calls with no tangible outcomes
I’ve orchestrated childcare for the kids for the weekend so Scott and I can get away for grown up time
Written the better part of a book detailing each kid’s eating and personal habits so that they can be cared for by grandparents
The dog got sprayed by a skunk less than 12 hours before I am to board a plane
I have showered with the dog, twice, washed him with soap, tomato soup (no juice on hand), vinegar and baking soda
My dog still smells like skunk
I have not had ONE DRINK, but in less than 4 hours I’m boarding a plane with my honey to take the first trip sans children, and plan to have enough drinks to forget all about the past seven days.
